St. Valentine did us all a favor
In his time, love to savor
He bucked the idiot emperor
A higher call pre-emptor

What he did was marry them all
Paid homage to his priestly call
In secret for all to see
Joined them together, made them free

Back then the church battled the army
Fought law with spirit and love disarming
Through the ages we've honor'd his blessing
Celebrated all, our love confessing

I hope you remember a sacrifice given
To a higher call we should be driven
